Expedition LX Jogging Stroller
Baby Trend came up with a
winner with their Expedition jogging stroller and they are following up with
product enhancement – the
Expedition LX jogging stroller. Just like its predecessor, the LX folds
up, has a five-point harness system, and comes standard with a hand brake
and wrist tether, but also features more versatile seating positions for
your child. For the parents of twins there is the
"double" version
The Expedition LX is a fixed wheel stroller – that is, the front wheel does
not swivel for steering. This design is ideal for serious joggers because
the stroller keeps its course over a variety of terrain. The downside of
this design is that it’s difficult to steer in tight places. Taking a
fixed-wheel jogger to a crowded shopping mall can be an exercise in
frustration.
The wheels on the LX are 16” bicycle style spoked wheels with pneumatic
tubes. This type of wheel is another plus for those who are committed to
jogging. They allow the stroller to be pushed over varied terrain such as
gravel and grass without undo effort. The large wheels also offer a
comfortable ride for your child.
Speaking of comfort, the new seat design of the Expedition LX is a great
improvement over the original model. The seat now can be adjusted to several
positions from upright to horizontal and has been fitted with extra padding.
Also new to the LX model is the transparent parent tray that allows you to
keep an eye on your child at all times.
There is lots of storage space on the LX. The under-seat tray is great for
holding all the necessities for outings, while individual pockets can be
used to keep house keys, a cell phone, and money. There are also pockets
which are useful for holding toys to keep your child amused during your
exercise routine.
The canopy has been designed so that it can be adjusted to just about any
position to keep the sun away from your child. However, we would like to see
it fitted with a window to allow two-way visual contact between parent and
child.
And for the cons?
There are still a few minor complaints about this jogging
stroller. The wheels must be removed to fit the stroller into the trunk of a
medium sized car, and the large size adds to the overall weight.
Still, it is a good jogging stroller for the money and well-suited to
serious joggers.
